What Is Therapy?
Therapy is a safe and confidential place for you to talk about your worries and concerns, work through unhelpful thoughts, reactions, and behaviors, and create more meaningful relationships with others and yourself.
I am pleased to offer all sessions via telehealth.
About Me
Hi! My name is Bryan Aston, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida and New York. I earned my Bachelor of Social Work at the University of Missouri - St. Louis, followed by my Master of Social Work at New York University. My professional background encompasses a diverse array of experiences, including roles within community mental health organizations, federal and local governments, and nonprofits focused on aiding vulnerable populations such as crime victims and the LGBTQ community. Additionally, I have worked in outpatient mental health and private group practice treatment settings, addressing a wide range of mental health conditions.
A couple of years ago, I relocated to Florida and established my own telehealth practice, catering to residents of both Florida and New York.
Client Focus
Over the past 7 years, I have primarily been in private practice, where I've worked with many individuals facing a broad array of challenges such as depression, PTSD, trauma, anxiety, relationship difficulties, intimacy and sexuality concerns, as well as navigating complex life changes. My therapeutic approach centers mostly around psychodynamic psychotherapy, which involves fostering deep exploration and curiosity, resulting in enduring change. I also incorporate other therapeutic modalities such as psychoanalysis, relational psychotherapy, and trauma-focused psychotherapy (as needed).
I assist clients in developing healthier relationships with others and themselves, exploring new coping strategies, finding meaning, and enhancing self-esteem and self-awareness through psychotherapy. From a psychodynamic perspective, we explore deeper layers, understanding how past experiences shape current behaviors. This insight empowers you to build more fulfilling relationships and a stronger self-awareness, leading to an overall healthier, more satisfying life.
I primarily work with men grappling with the aforementioned issues, as well as individuals within the LGBTQ community. I also have expertise and clinical experience working with trauma, PTSD, and interpersonal violence.
Despite societal norms often discouraging these groups from seeking help for mental health concerns (or there being no help at all), the importance of addressing these issues cannot be overstated. I foster a supportive and non-judgmental environment, strive to break down the stigma surrounding mental health, and encourage individuals to prioritize their emotional well-being.
Contact me today to schedule a phone consultation. We will discuss what is bringing you to therapy, how I can help, and discuss any questions or concerns you may have.

Top Tips for Virtual Therapy:
Find a Quiet, Private Space: Ensure you have a quiet, comfortable, and private area where you won’t be disturbed to maintain confidentiality and focus.
Check Your Technology: Log in a few minutes early to check your setup and mentally prepare for the session. Test your internet connection, webcam, and microphone beforehand. Make sure your device is fully charged or plugged in.
Minimize Distractions: Turn off notifications and close unnecessary apps or tabs. Inform others in your household not to interrupt you. Some find headphones to be helpful in minimizing distractions and being in the moment.
Prepare Your Environment: Ensure good lighting on your face and a non-distracting background. Natural light works best, but lamps can also help.
